What I didn’t like in my testing is that the cap/counterweight fits very snugly on the USB cable, and you have to pull it with more force than I’m comfortable with in order to adjust its position. This updated design is elegant, compact and works well. This was a very common problem, for example, with the old X-Rite Eye One Display 2 and other colorimeters of that generation. When closed, this cap protects the color filters inside the unit from overexposure to light, which can degrade them and lessen the unit’s accuracy. The colorimeter now has a more compact design with an integrated protective cap that doubles as a counterweight. Profiles generated with the new Spyder5 sensor have a little bit more shadow detail and less banding, comparing favorably to the X-Rite i1Display Pro, which is arguably one of the best on the market. The improvement is very apparent when you compare it to previous versions and also reflects in a faster calibration time, since the updated unit can get a precise measurement in less time than its predecessors. The updated Spyder5 sensor features a new 7-color matrix that is claimed to offer up to 55% improvement in tonal response, especially in the shadows. One of the biggest criticisms of the Spyder3 and Spyder4 colorimeters was that measurement performance was not so great on the darker tones. Spyder4 focused on measurement precision and less unit-to-unit variance. The Spyder3, for example, was the first consumer grade colorimeter that worked fine with wide gamut displays. I appreciate the fact that they move fast and listen closely to the market demands. I’ve used all versions of it, from the original Spyder, back when the company was still called Colorvision, to this latest 5th generation. How to choose the best monitor for photo editing: what specs really matter.ĭatacolor has been improving their sensor design for more than a decade. ![]() For example, if you have custom color profiles for your LCD display and photo printer, Adobe Lightroom can understand their differences and match their output as closely as possible, or simulate the printer output on your screen. These profiles are also used to match colors between other color managed devices. The resulting color profile is used by your operating system and any color managed program to adjust its output, making sure that what you see is as similar as possible to other displays, given their intrinsic differences. The same logic applies not only for photographers, but also for users in other fields that require consistent color - for example, web, graphic and product design. Calibrating your display ensures that what you see is consistent from day to day and also follows a known standard. Your images or designs can vary wildly on color from one display to another, and even more during printing, where any misstep can represent a big waste of money. An uncalibrated screen is an unknown variable. It’s the only interaction between photographer and the image after its inception on the camera. ![]() Your display is the starting point of your digital darkroom. Captin underpants full movie7/30/2023 ![]() This may be DreamWorks’ first Captain Underpants movie, but it certainly won’t be their last.Adults sentenced to sitting through yet another animated film with their kids look for one thing in the experience - a hint of anarchy, a taste of Looney Tunes mayhem and wit. From that familiar “Tra-la-laaa!” to the catchy theme song sung by Weird Al, I adore the film in all its juvenile jubilation. The film’s light whimsy culminates in a movie that is fun because, well, it doesn’t feel like homework. In the end, Captain Underpants is a kids movie that is enjoyable purely because it appeals to its target audience. Krupp himself is not the antagonist, even if his actions are the catalyst for the plot to begin with. Krupp, it does gives the film a sense of closure when he compromises with George and Harold in the end. While I’m not in love with the idea of humanizing the typically mean Mr. Krupp in Edith (Kristen Schaal), the shy lunch lady. The story also throws in a love interest for Mr. Poopypants and Melvin are both mainstays of the novels, and here, they’re so cartoonishly evil that it’s hard to imagine them as anything but the bad guys. Poopypants, after years of people laughing at his name, plots to rid the world of laughter with the help of Melvin (Jordan Peele), the school’s nerdy, brown-nosing tattletale. There isn’t much to talk about in regards to the plot after being hypnotized, Captain Underpants carelessly hires a mad scientist, Professor Poopypants (Nick Kroll) as the new science teacher. They want us to engage with the silliness, not mindlessly gawk at the screen. Their focus with the film was to crack a joke or play a prank whenever possible. They’ve read the books, laughed at the jokes and played with the gimmicks. This gag, among many others, demonstrates how the filmmakers understand the source material. Here, the filmmakers haven’t just included one, they’ve gone to the trouble of reproducing the inevitable moment where the flippers get so excited that they tear the page.” As Matt Zoller Seitz writes in his review, “As any true ‘Captain Underpants’ fan will tell you, the flip book interludes in Pilkey’s books are the best parts. ![]() Any fan would recognize these immediately, but the joke itself is the fragility of the Flip-O-Rama itself. In doing so, they have faithfully captured what it felt like to read Captain Underpants, even if the adaptation itself isn’t all that faithful to the story.įor instance, there was a scene where, in lieu of a real action sequence, the battle is given to us through a Flip-O-Rama. So rather than directly adapt the novels verbatim, the filmmakers instead chose to emulate the spirit of the novels. Kids who grew up reading these books fondly remember their famous letter-swapping sign jokes, or the incredibly brief chapters titled, “To Make a Long Story Short.”īut how do you adapt this into a movie? Wordplay isn’t exactly prominent in cinema, particularly when it’s written. There were recurring gags, funny anagrams, and plenty of meta-jokes. ![]() It might not be apparent at first glance, but the books were smarter than people gave it credit for. Gillian boardwalk empire7/30/2023 ![]() I know, I know… Gillian has had such a tough life, and it just feels like she doesn’t have the tools to really know what’s good and what’s bad. TVLINE | But this is Boardwalk Empire, so I also know it probably won’t end well for her. TVLINE | As I watch that story unfold I find myself really rooting for Gillian for the first time. Maybe in that way heroin is a good thing. I think now she’s just so down, and has lost any kind of power that she had, so she’s vulnerable and open to it. She may have seen him more as someone to be conquered, someone to be used. Whereas I think she may have been too cynical or disbelieving or just not open to that kind of a man. And there’s something about the choice of heroin… it’s sort of the perfect drug for Gillian because she can finally let go of all that struggle and allow herself to be open to this newcomer. I think that the drugs kind of got her she’s powerless to them. I think that it’s probably the addiction that shook things up. ![]() TVLINE | What do you think caused this shift in Gillian? Was it meeting Roy? I know that there are a lot of people who love Gillian, but when people have that kind of vitriol, it is a little bit scary. I actually didn’t watch Breaking Bad but I remember reading the op-ed piece by Anna Gunn and I could kind of relate to it. TVLINE | Yeah, when a woman kills someone, it’s a bigger deal… It’s an interesting social commentary that this woman does this one thing and she has to pay for it, while all of these guys are heroic for the murders that they. But so much violence, I think it’s interesting that the writers have chosen to pay so much attention to that murder. And then that poor, innocent Jimmy look-alike Roger (Billy Magnussen, pictured) was really beyond. I don’t really know if peace is in the cards for Gillian… Yes, she has done horrific things: She really hurt her son in Season 2. Given, everything she has done, can she ever really be at peace? TVLINE | In this Sunday’s episode, Roy - as he’s helping Gillian quit her heroin addiction - tells her she looks like she’s at peace. ![]() The fact that she’s having trouble and that we’re seeing her struggle - she struggled before but it was really just about power - helps build some kind of sympathy it makes her kind of a human being. TVLINE | This definitely feels like a “Redemption of Gillian” arc. I remember when we were shooting one of the first scenes, which was Gillian at Chalky’s club with Roy, she’s just listening to the music and I thought “Wow, Gillian’s out in the world and smiling - we’ve never seen her enjoy and let herself be swept away by anything!” But it’s always nice to reveal other colors to the characters you play. I’ve always approached her as a whole person though, not just as a kind of archetype. ![]() TVLINE | Are you enjoying playing this new side of Gillian? Below, Mol opens up to TVLine about Gillian’s past transgressions, current turnaround and future happiness. Her climb out of the depths of depravity is accelerated in this Sunday’s episode when the new man in her life, Roy (Ron Livingston), helps her kick her heroin addiction cold turkey. The maximum occupancy clause limits the number of people who can live in the apartment. Tenants should always get receipts for what they pay to the landlord (although canceled checks often are adequate to prove payment).īeware of "waivers" in a lease in which the tenant gives up rights under certain conditions. New Hampshire law requires that the landlord give a copy of the lease to the tenant within 30 days after the signing. Keep a copy of the lease so that you can refer to it if a problem arises. All promises to make repairs to the leased property should be made in writing. If the landlord and tenant agree to change anything in the printed lease, the change should be made in writing and both tenant and landlord should put their initials beside the change. A prospective tenant should find out who pays for the hot water, utilities, parking, snow removal, trash removal, and other costs before the lease is signed. A lease is a legally binding contract so the tenant must understand and agree with the terms of the lease. A prospective tenant needs to read the lease carefully before signing it. The terms of the lease, therefore, are often written in the landlord's favor. Leases are usually prepared by landlords. Leases are important legal documents governing the rights and duties of renters of any type of housing. Preface | User's Guide | Table of Contents

Results suggest that prior peak deconvolution methods overestimate cellulose crystallinity. Analysis of several cellulose samples was then performed and compared to the conventional peak deconvolution methods with common peak fitting functions and background subtraction approach. The impact of background subtraction method has also been assessed. A new peak deconvolution method then is proposed to analyze cellulose XRD data with the amorphous Fourier model function in conjunction with standard Voigt functions representing the crystalline peaks. The amorphous XRD profile is modeled using a Fourier series equation where the coefficients are determined using the nonlinear least squares method. This agrees well with cellulose I d-spacing measurements and oligosaccharide XRD analysis. It is hypothesized that short range order within a glucose unit and between adjacent units survives ball milling and generates the characteristic amorphous XRD profiles. It first examines the effects of ball milling on three types of cellulose and results show that ball milling transforms all samples into a highly amorphous phase exhibiting nearly identical powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) profiles. This paper addresses two fundamental issues in the peak deconvolution method of cellulose XRD data analysis: there is no standard model for amorphous cellulose and common peak functions such as Gauss, Lorentz and Voigt functions do not fit the amorphous profile well.
